ORGANO A CASSE DECORATE. RESTAURO CONSERVATIVO ED ESTETICO DELL’ORGANO A CANNE SITO NELLA CHIESA DI SAN LORENZO IN SAN SEVERO (FG)
FINALITA’ INTERVENTO
L’intervento, realizzato grazie al finanziamento della Regione Puglia a valere sul POR 2014-2020, consiste nella valorizzazione integrata dell’antico Organo a canne conservato nella Chiesa di San Lorenzo e della gelosia del coro sopra l’altare. Le azioni di progetto ne realizzano il restauro fisico e al contempo costruiscono un’offerta di servizi per la fruizione innovativi, arricchendo di un nuovo attrattore la rete del patrimonio culturale pugliese.
DESCRIZIONE SINTETICA
L’intervento è centrato sulla valorizzazione del settecentesco organo a canne, opera della bottega organaria napoletana dei “Cimino”, che fu in uso alle “Virtuose Monache” coriste del Monastero benedettino di San Lorenzo fino alla fine del 1800. Appartiene agli strumenti musicali detti “positivi”, composto di una base con manticeria e di un somiere con canne, con dimensioni di un armadio ligneo spostabile facilmente per esigenze esecutive.
Attraverso i lavori di restauro, eseguiti sia sulla cassa lignea riccamente decorata a fiorami e volute che sulla macchina musicale, l’organo viene restituito alla Comunità nell’originario splendore e nella piena funzionalità meccanica e fonica. Il restauro conservativo ed estetico interessa anche la gelosia in legno scolpito e meccato del Coro.
A tali restauri si aggancia la valorizzazione integrata dei beni, con un percorso narrativo accessibile tramite dispositivi e contenuti multimediali che offrono racconti virtuali e suggestioni in realtà aumentata. Tale percorso mira a divulgare e promuovere la conoscenza pubblica dell’organo e delle sue peculiarità, della sua storia e di come ne è avvenuto il restauro, ed a coinvolgere utenti di tutte le fasce di età nella passione per la musica sacra e per l’arte

Organ with decorated chests. Conservative and aesthetic restoration of the pipe organ located in the church of San Lorenzo in San Severo (FG)
PURPOSE OF THE INTERVENTION
The project, realized thanks to the funding of the Puglia Region to be valid on the POR 2014-2020, consists in the integrated enhancement of the ancient pipe organ preserved in the Church of San Lorenzo and in the jealousy of the choir above the altar. The project actions carry out the restoration and at the same time build an offer of innovative services for use, enriching the network of the Apulian cultural heritage with a new attraction.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The intervention is centred on the enhancement of the eighteenth-century pipe organ, the manufacture of the Neapolitan organ workshop “Cimino”, which was in use at the “Virtuous Nuns” choristers of the Benedictine Monastery of San Lorenzo until the end of 1800. It belongs to the musical instruments called “positive”, composed of a base with manticery and a somiere with pipes, with the dimensions of a wooden cabinet that can be easily moved for executive needs.
Through the restoration works, performed both on the wooden case richly decorated with flowers and volutes that on the musical machine, the organ is returned to the Community in its original splendour and full mechanical and sound functionality. The conservative and aesthetic restoration also affects the jealousy in carved and mechanised wood of the Choir.
These restorations are linked to the integrated enhancement of goods, with a narrative path accessible through devices and multimedia content that offer virtual stories and suggestions in augmented reality. This path aims to disseminate and promote public knowledge of the organ and its peculiarities, its history and how it was restored, and to involve users of all ages in the passion for sacred music and art.
